Rules of the game of American Roulette
There is a subjective opinion that roulette is a monotonous game. Today we’re going to talk about a popular form of modern roulette, which is called ‘American Roulette’.
At the start of a game, the dealer throws a rolling pinball onto a spinning wheel containing 38 numbers. The aim of the game is to predict the cell on which the ball will fall.
The structure of the American roulette wheel
There are 38 equal-sized sectors on the wheel. The numbering ranges from 0.00.1 to 36. All numbers on the game wheel are random, but not in order. The numbers are arranged so as to balance large (from 18-36) and small (from 1-18) numbers, even and odd numbers and the numbers in black and red.
Let us note the main features of the wheel:
- Red and black numbers go in turn.
- Two even numbers are followed by the same number of odd numbers.
- The odd number is opposite the even number that follows it.
- All black numbers, placed on the opposite side from the red ones.
- Most of the digits add up to a pair, and there is another number in between. The sum of the pair is 37 or 39.
0 and 00 have cells in green. All the other 36 numbers have a red and black shade. They are shown on the inner circle of the wheel.
The playing field
The gambling table is similar to European roulette, but the American roulette wheel has another double zero(00) box.
A participant in the gamble can bet on:
- a specific number of their choice;
- a pair of numbers;
- even or odd, red/black.
The expectations and payouts depend on the stakes chosen.
The game is played at a table with a wheel and a gambling board with numerical sectors marked on it. The standard board is made up of several parts:
The inner field. The numbers on the wheel.3 digits in a row make a circle, vertically arranged lines make 3 columns of 12 digits each.
Outer field. Special margins placed at the sides of the playing field. These are used mainly for outside betting. All fields correspond to specific numbers, such as the first dozen or other number characteristics.
How American Roulette differs from the European version:
- The American variation of the game has an additional sector for 00
- All numbers in an American Roulette wheel are a certain colour, except zeros.
- European Roulette has white sectors with numbers.
- European Roulette tables are available for verbal betting.
Surrender option
Many gambling houses can offer clients the option of surrender. When a gamer rolls a 0 or 00, they do not lose a bet on a level bet, but only lose 50%. In such a case, the gambling house receives 2.63% more winnings, normally this figure is 5.26%.
